  1. Remove date of birth / age
    Australian resumes leave off date of birth and age — including them can get you screened out under anti-discrimination norms.
  2. Remove personal fields
    Marital status, nationality, religion and gender don't belong on an Australian resume — leave them all off.
  3. No photo on an Australian resume
    You mention a photo. Australian employers expect a resume with no photo — remove it.
  4. Use Australian spelling
    Found US spelling. Use: organise / organisation, specialise, analyse, labour…. On an Australian application this reads "written for somewhere else."
  5. Use an Australian phone number
    A phone number was found but it doesn't look Australian. Get a local SIM and put an Australian (04xx) number at the top — a foreign number signals 'not here yet'.
  6. Move your tickets to the TOP
    Your tickets sit near the bottom. In Australian hospitality a manager scans for 'RSA: yes/no' first — put them just under your name, not on page two.
  7. State your availability
    Add a line on when you can work — e.g. 'Available 7 days, including nights and weekends, can start immediately.' For casual roles this beats a clever summary.

Questions

I call it a CV, not a resume. Is this the same thing?
For casual and entry-level work in Australia, yes. Employers here use the two words for the same one- or two-page document, and job ads say both. The difference to watch is length and content: the long CV used in much of Europe, South America and Asia, with a photo, a date of birth and several pages of history, is exactly what gets screened out here. The check reads whichever you upload and returns it in the Australian shape.
What is the Australian resume format?
One or two pages, no photo, no date of birth or personal details, a short block near the top with your phone, email, location, availability and any tickets you hold, then your work history with the most recent job first, then education. Australian spelling throughout, and a plain single-column layout that applicant-tracking software can read.
What does the check return?
A score out of 100, every problem the twelve checks found with what to do about each one, and your resume rewritten in the Australian format with the problems fixed. It arrives on a private link, with no account and no email required.
What if my resume is already fine?
Then the check says so and you pay nothing. Payment only happens after the check has found at least one problem and told you how many.
Is it an ATS check?
Partly. The layout check looks for the things that break applicant-tracking software: columns, tables, text in images. The rest of the checks are about what an Australian hiring manager expects to see, which no ATS scanner tells you.
Does A$4.99 include the corrected resume?
Yes. The score, the list of problems, how each one was fixed, and the corrected resume are one payment. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
What happens to my resume?
The text is sent to our server and to the model that rewrites it, and the result is stored so your private link keeps working. Nothing is emailed, no account is created, and we never sell it. Ask and we delete it.
